Chairman of State Monitoring Committee of NGT for Solid Waste Management inspects Ondipudur Biofertilizer Production Centre in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: The state monitoring team of the National Green Tribunal for Solid Waste Management is conducting inspections in various districts across Tamil Nadu on solid waste management.

As part of this, the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee who arrived in Coimbatore on Thursday, Justice Dr. P Jothimani and his team inspected various places including the Vellalore garbage depot in Coimbatore Corporation.

The Chairman of the Monitoring Committee also personally inspected and reviewed the functioning of the Micro Composting Centre near the Ondipudur sewage treatment plant under the Eastern Zone of Coimbatore Corporation on Friday.

Coimbatore City Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, Corporation Commissioner M Prathap, Corporation Deputy Commissioner Dr. M Sharmila, East Zone President Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik, Councillor Shantamani, Town Welfare Officer Dr. Pradeep Vasudevan Krishnakumar, Zonal Health Officers and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
